Go Read in Your Nook!

Ok, so I found another project for this summer.

I have a feeling that I will need to make TWO of them.
DUH!

Ana White has some amazing projects that any weekend project warrior could tackle.

Jen Adkins & Lori Winger:
I am forewarning you not to look unless
you are ready to go get the supplies and have at it.

Bring on the drills!

Dog Ear Don'ts

Do your kids (or you) dog ear pages in a book?

Eli can't stop. But I found a way to help him.

Go to I Could Make That
(which, have we ALL not said at the Country Living fair)
to learn how to make page corner bookmarks.

I am so making a BAZILLION of these tomorrow (the 1st day of summer break).

Corn Dogs, Barrel Racing & a Tantrum

Today the kids and I went to the Hartford County Fair. Here is the run down of the days events.

  • Arrive @ 3:25 pm
  • HOT!
  • Cherry Icee
  • 4 pm: Canoe Races/Canoe Jousting/Log Rolling contest
  • Seeing Pastor Kim (our Children's Pastor) and her horse Stomp
  • HOT!
  • Hot Dogs, Corn Dog, Bucket-O-Fries, Lots of Water
  • Cows, Sheep, Goats, Llamas, Alpacas
  • 5 year old boys rolling in the dirt
  • 6:20 pm: Pastor Kim finally in the Exhibition Barrel Run line up (# 83 & #90 out of 100+) which started @ 4 pm
  • Shade and not so HOT
  • Talking with Pastor Kim, Jess Fetrow (who can't pick a low # out of a bucket), Mike & Tami, the Dixon Girls, the Parsons
  • 7:35 pm walking to the Grandstand to see the Rough Truck contest.
  • Stop for a pee break. Then a fill up of Iced Tea and Lemonade.
  • Head towards the Grandstand infield...WOW, so many rednecks. (Don't get your knickers in a bunch, my hubby is a redneck.)
  • Realize that it is standing room only and kids are TIRED
  • Suggest we check out the other side of the Grandstand.
  • Mr. Man realizes we are heading to the parking lot
  • Crying ensues
  • Other moms nod and smile in sympathy (or more like "better you than me")
  • Full tantrum beside car as big SUV waits for my compact car-size spot. Move on moron, nothing to see here.
  • A/C
  • Begging and crying for me to turn back most of the 30 minute drive home
  • Falls asleep 5 minutes before we get home @ 8:30 pm
  • Strip Mr. Man's clothes off in the hallway because that is as far as he made it into the house
  • Put him in the tub crying
  • Dressed and in bed by 8:45 pm

Did I mention that the Hartford County Fair is in the town of Croton which is in Licking county.

Drag Races @ National Trail Raceway next Saturday. Woohoo.
