Once You Start You Just Can’t Stop with One

Blog hopping a few days ago (aren’t I always) I stopped my my sil’s blog to check out the new post. I’m just going to cut to the chase…..she got a CRICUT. That was Saturday.

Oh, be still my heart.

They were on sale last week at Joann Fabrics. I would never think of asking my husband if I could have the money to got one of them babies.

So Sunday I was spending a few minutes (ha) checking my email/FB/blog hopping. I received an email from Joann Fabrics. Click “open”, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling….oh my goodness they are still on sale.

Rob is sitting on the couch pretending to watch the NASCAR race, but really wanting to let the drowsiness of the afternoon overtake him. Then he pipes up and says “do you want one?”

DUH!

Really? I look at him like he is some other person. Some alien. Yeah, right, like you would let me buy one.

“Let’s go get it”, he says with a grin on his face.

No strings, no promises, no nothing. Just I love you and I want to do this for you. I have a great guy.

Now my big dilemma is that it has been in my home for 2 days and I have not cut one piece of paper.

1. Do I start now in the chaos of fixing dinner, getting the kids baths, reading a bedtime story and saying prayers.

or

2. Do I want until they are tucked in bed so I don’t have to raise my voice to them to stop touching mommy's new toy.

For sanity sake I’m going with #2. Because you now once you start you can’t just stop with one.

I'm Mooching Again

After dinner (and before baths) tonight I was over at Samster Mommy checking out the Naptime Crafting section. I was scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and hey, that's cute.

So I gathered a few supplies:
thread
needles
ribbon
beads
hot glue gun
lighter

Drum roll please.......

Whatca' think? I don't want to know, but only if you like it.

Necklace is 30 inches long.

Bracelet is on Rory's wrist. Mine was once that small (sigh). I digress. Bracelet is 20 inches long.

A few comments of my own:
1. My neck is a little thicker than most. Being a plus size girl and all.
2. Pink is not the only color I have to work with right now. I have a beautiful dark blue and a pretty lavender and some awesome greens.

Any suggestions? Something you might like? My beads were quite small. I have a few coupons for Joann's that are screaming to be used.

So Clever...

Blog hopping on this Saturday evening...listening to the neighborhood kids running around & screaming on the 3rd tee out back our patio, Eli is still on his high from the 'roids that he started again yesterday for his wheezing due to allergies (2 more days to go), remembering that I have a pile of food/knit/crochet books from the library by the couch, hoping that no one calls off for nursery/toddler/preschool teacher duty tomorrow @ church, needing to start my Bible study (which needs to be done by Tuesday), knowing that I probably will not start it because I have a few craft ideas cranking away in my brain after going to the Country Living Fair yesterday (which I went to with my mom and sil, Jen. Our phrase of the day was "oh, I can make that".)....aaahhhh.

Oh, so clever, yeah I forgot...I was blog hopping.

I was @ UCreate browsing and I hopped on over to Samster Mommy. She had a post about circle wall letters, but something else caught my eye (eyes...I'm not a cyclops.) It was the book holder. If you click on the picture with the chair you should be able to get a close up of the holder.

It is a double curtain rod!

How ingenious is that. I know of a million and one places that could house a book holder like that one.

Monogram Mishaps

I love blogs that are just there strictly for our entertainment.

I stumbled upon this little gem today, and have had so much fun LMBO.

Here is my favorite post so far.

Mom, Aunt Randee I Found Them....

So I've been telling my mom and aunt Randee about these plate hangers that somehow stick to the back of the plate and there are not hooks over the top/bottom of the plate. I could not for the life of me remember where I had seen them, what they were called, etc....
Well, they just kept looking at my like "What are you talking about."

Guess what....
I Found Them, I Found Them.

Well, Layla at The Lettered Cottage found them.
Thanks Layla.

Bestest, Cutest Tutorial

First, I need to ask Jen, my sister in law, a question.
WTH(eck) are you doing up at 5:42 am commenting on a post?

Lets get back on track here.

Check out this tutorial for the bestest, cutest "dress" for a baby girl. Now I don't have a little girl. I have a growing girl that has a few shirts that are too short, but fit her everywhere else. So me thinks that I can modify it to work for her. She could use a couple of winter dresses to twirl around the house in.

Now, if I can just get my butt in gear to start homeschooling this morning then I can get crackin' at those dresses for Rory. Maybe we'll just take a "sick" day.

I heart homeschooling.

Go to the Bathroom Before You Read This

If you are a crafter you know that right now is the time to be thinking about the hoildays: decorations, gifts, items to sell at the local bazaar.
Don't forget the all important family photo.
Make sure that your hair is just perfect.
The perfected hairstyle.
This has got to be the funniest site I have seen.

Reclaimed Shutters

Okay girls, cousin, sil, mom, aunts...who wants a shutter?

You know, the ones that I snatched up from someones garbage on the way to have dinner at my parents house. I have 5 pair (10 singles), but I am keeping 1 pair (2 singles) for myself. First come, first served. No pushing, shoving, ditching.

Dimensions of each panel: 35 1/2 in. tall, 11 in. wide. 3/4 in. thick.

Here are a couple of ideas for the shutters:

1. Living In Color at the Nesting Place. She painted it a lovely aqua and placed it against the wall on top of a dresser that looks a little like the one that my aunt Randee bought at a yard sale last week. Okay, made it is just the fact that it is white with 3 drawers. My mom has one, too, and I am hoping that I inherit it. Love ya mom!

2. Flea Market Shutters & Frames and Shutter Style on BHG.com at the lettered cottage. Now, if I could just find a mirror that big really cheap...like, as close to free as possible. ('80's valley girl coming out, sorry about that.)

3. Studio Inspiration Photos at Twice Remembered. Just a cute place to put those special cards or a pretty postcard that you have no intention of sending because you bought it just for the picture on the front.

If you find any other ideas for the shutters let me know.

That's all I have for today. Make the most of your weekend with family & friends. Even if that is just sitting/laughing/talking.
